I am so sorry for posting this so late. I mean, it’s already August 5th and here I am going to blab about July. But I had a couple of rough days, so I hope you’ll forgive me for not posting this update sooner. As always I have been very busy with my project goals, so let’s see how I’ve progressed, okay? Tanya's 101 ~ Monthly Update July 2015 | My ninth month into the Day Zero Project

At one point I was afraid I wouldn’t accomplish any goals last month. I had the feeling July had only just begun, but according to my calendar the last week had already started. And I had not achieved any goal yet. I didn’t want to end the month like that though. So I scrolled through my list to search for some goals I would be able to achieve in the few days I had left. I found two.

No. 78: Create a playlist of 101 songs I love to sing along to.

Tanya's 101 ~ Monthly Update July 2015 | My ninth month into the Day Zero Project

This was the first one I decided to complete. I already had progressed on this one. For the past few months, I had added songs that popped into my head as suitable ones and sometimes I had also actively searched for songs to go on the list. In fact, I had too many songs on the list! So I only had to eliminate a few of them to end up with exactly 101 songs.

It sounded simple, but it wasn’t actually. During elimination I thought of a couple of other songs that just had to go on the list. I wondered why I hadn’t put them there yet. This meant I had to eliminate even more songs though. It was more difficult than I thought, but I succeeded! If you’d like to see the songs I put on the list, read this post. It’s my favorite playlist now!

No. 94: Send postcards to people I care about 10 times (birthdays and holidays not included). These should be at least five different people.

This was another goal I had already made a lot of progress on. During the past half year, I had sent seven cards. I only needed to send three more to complete this goal! I didn’t though. I sent four. Goal succeeded with a bonus! I haven’t blogged about this goal yet, but I will tomorrow.

Although I only completed two goals, I have made a lot of progress on some others.

No. 34: Own a Wreck this Journal and complete all the tasks in the book.

I did a couple of pages last month, which involved a lot of ripping and tearing and throwing. Much fun! If you have missed my post and like to see the pages I’ve done, you can read about them here. After that post, I progressed on even more pages and I will blog about them soon.

No 5: Build a company website.

I have a friend who can build awesome websites and she’s working on designing my company website now! I’m so happy! This month we chose a color scheme for the website. It’s actually coming together really nice already! Who knows, I just might have my website up and running by the end of this month.

She also agreed to re-design this blog, since it’s part of my portfolio for future clients. The blog will get a total make-over. It will be in the same color scheme as my website, but even more personal. I can’t wait! (But I’ll have to, since my company website has first priorities now.)

No. 82: Go see 25 theater performances (professional or amateur). (11/25)

Tanya's 101 ~ Monthly Update July 2015 | My ninth month into the Day Zero Project

In July I went to two performances: an improv show of the group Mals, which you can read about here, and Sherlock Holmes, which you can read about here. I have seen eleven plays since the start of the Day Zero Project now, so that means I’m almost halfway! I probably won’t be seeing any shows this month though, because theater groups usually don’t perform during summer.

No. 77: Watch 101 movies. (23/101)

I watched all Harry Potter movies! Well okay, I started in April, but still. July was the month where I finished them. And I loved them. Although I probably shouldn’t have watched them so quick after reading the books, because now I noticed every tiny change they made. If you’ve missed my reviews about the Harry Potter movies, you can find them here.

I also watched Minions in the cinema! I will blog about it this month, together with two other cinema visits.

No. 16: Learn to play at least one song on the guitar and upload it on YouTube.

After fifteen years of waiting and wishing I could play the guitar, I finally did it: I had my very first guitar lesson. Technically I can even play a song by now, but I just want to perfection it a bit more before uploading it on YouTube. Or I might even choose a different song altogether, I’m not sure yet. Bottom line is, I’m learning!

No. 36: Take a selfie every month. (10/33)

Tanya's 101 ~ Monthly Update July 2015 | My ninth month into the Day Zero Project

In July my face changed quite a bit, because I bought glasses. Sure, I had some selfies where I was wearing glasses already. In fact, half of them were. But they were either funny glasses for Halloween, fake glasses for a costume party, sunglasses for another costume party (man, I sure like to dress up, don’t I?) or sunglasses on a sunny day. This month was different. I’ve got real glasses now. Glasses I’ll wear every day, just to make the world a bit more clearer and rounder. Perfect circumstances for a new selfie, don’t you think? If you’d like to read the full post about my new glasses, visit the article here.

No. 35: Own the diary a Q&A, a five year journal and write in it every day.

Yes, I still faithfully answer every question in the book! I love this project. The quote in the picture is so powerful to me. It sums up every reason for starting this Day Zero Project as well as my reasons to stay motivated and actually keep accomplishing my goals. This quote should be on every billboard.

Something else happened last month, which was not really goal related but more blog related. I won a Liebster award! And not even once, but twice in the one week! In short that means you guys like what I write and that’s something I’m really thankful for. If you missed the article about the award, you can find it here. I warn you though, you will get to know me a lot better after reading it!

In total I have accomplished 17 out of 101 goals now. Technically I should complete an average of three goals each month, which means by now I should have accomplished 27 goals. Yikes! I’m far behind! I have made a plan though, which helps me to achieve at least four goals each month now. At least I hope so. Oh well, I shouldn’t forget either that I’ve got a lot of long-term goals that I’m actually working on. I actually have a few goals on the edge of being completed. So stay tuned if you don’t want to miss them!
